And this evening to start with we’re going to look back at Facebook’s rather poorly thought out Libra launch. In typical Silicon Valley fashion, they presented their idea as the next-big-thing and as something that was inevitable. Industry consensus? Government consensus? Libra Partner consensus? Yeh, everyone seems to think Libra was a stupid idea. About a one minute, totally enjoyable read.
Comment: in one word, the problem with Libra is simple – Facebook. Who would trust Facebook with private data? Yup. Lots do for friends and family, but with their money, with their spending? Nope. Because, Facebook.
