Comment: when I was doing biz in Africa banks there typically had very new technology, simply because they didn’t have sunk costs to consider. Note Incumbents in the developed world frequently have sunk costs, and so tend to adopt new technology as slowly as possible. Unless their business is disrupted in which case all bets are off.
